This is a nice enough product. My family and I tried it on a number of different hair types. The weather right now is quite frigid where I live. Hair has been forced to deal with many conditions - low humidity, static electricity, frizz and extremes between a hot inside and cold outside. I'll clarify the results by each person's hair type/length and scalp conditions:
Short, dry scalp with dandruff, fine, sparse, 60 year ish hair - honestly this worked the best on my mom. Hair is generally crazy, shows bed head easily. But after this, her hair was smooth for a change
Long, thick, straight, HEAVY, skin has psoriasis, we applied it with a small spatula due to her sheer freaking surface area for her hair. To be honest, this would need to come in a vat to work multiple times for my sis. Like one of those oooold school cans of Crisco. This worked decently. She had very little frizz to begin with, but no negative results. I honestly don't know if we used enough on her hair, she has just so much of it.
Now for my hair. Fine fine fine. Normal to oily scalp. Long, but I've been going through a lot of hair loss due to a few medications. This was okay. But it doesn't feel half as amazing as several different pureology products like the "superfood" or the fanatic spray, or the clear gloss. It has a lot to go up against tbh. A decent budget alternative, but it just didn't just wow me.
One thing to say is this product smells AMAZING!! I definitely had that clean hair smell afterwards and it lasted long into before my next wash. My only issue was I did notice my hair was more oily than usual. The help with frizz was there but at the expense of volume. I think for more oily hairstyles this mask might be a bit too heavy.
I use the Mondays shampoo and conditioner typically and I have loved adding in this mask to my routine. I feel like it has really helped with my frizz and keeps my hair looking super sleek and clean.
This deep conditioner is amazing. It smells almost overbearing at first, but once you rinse it from your hair it leaves very little scent behind - but not in a bad way. The packing is cute and snaps shut easily. It keeps my hair hydrated and is good to use after days of no washing.
The scent is heavenly -it’s floral, and it takes me back to the scents popular from the late 90s. The texture is very thick, and coats hair well with oils and other moisture and smoothing ingredients.
My hair is dark, naturally has a slight wave, and not color treated.
This is marketed as a frizz- reducing product - a mask - that you’re supposed to leave in wet or dry hair for at least 10 minutes. In both scenarios, I tested this only on half of my head. When I sampled this, I saw similar results using it two ways.
First way : I tried it on DRY HAIR on the right half of my head, using it before my shower.
I used plenty and kept it on for well over 10 minutes. Honestly, it would have been easier to dampen my hair a bit then use it, so the product application would go farther and I wouldn’t need to use as much, but I’ll make my adjustment for next time.
Second way: I tried it on DAMP HAIR on the right half of my head, after the shampoo, during the shower. I applied it for about 5 minutes. I wish I had ten minutes to spend in the shower just waiting for the time to pass. Trying to follow the directions is a bit annoying, but I’ll test it again later to see if it makes a difference waiting for 3 minutes vs waiting for 10 minutes.
Both ways I did not apply additional conditioner on either side. I did not apply any styling products. I air dried my usual way (slowly, with clips for an hour: right half had two sections, left half had two sections; then air dry the rest of the time). By the end of the evening, my hair had a good amount of volume BUT WAS NOT POOFY on the side with the product. The other side, my hair had a lot of volume, probably too much. It was noticeably bigger on the side with no product. To be totally fair, I tested this on the days it was rainy outside (extra humidity = extra volume) and I am in need of a haircut pretty soon. Yes, I did notice a difference in how my hair behaved.
Future uses, I will probably use this as a standard conditioner - leaving it in maybe for 3-5 minutes instead of the 10.
